Is it possible to package hygge? Many Danes will tell you no. In “My Hygge Home,” Meik Wiking states that hygge “is about enjoying what you have and enjoying it with the people in your life. It’s a state of mind.” Hygge is a feeling, and emotions can’t be packaged, but certain products can help create the right atmosphere for hygge moments.

She has a sweet tooth and will never turn down a slice of cake. Her room is covered in pink and filled with craft projects. If I were to make her a hygge box, I would include string lights, hot chocolate, a smores kit, a DIY craft project, and a notebook (for her to write and draw in about her adventures). You get the idea.

So while there is no formula for building the perfect hygge box, you can come close to curating one for your person when you take a few minutes to think about their interests, hobbies, and what brings them joy.

If you want to add bells and whistles, wrap each item individually and tie them with a ribbon. I like to use kraft paper and colored twine. Don’t forget to include a gift message. It could be short and sweet or long and sentimental. Either way, it’s perfect as long as it comes from your heart.
